Review: The Canyon, Agoura Hills

The Canyon in Agoura Hills, California is nothing like I expected. About 30 miles outside of LA, this rock venue holds 1,300 people and lends itself to being the perfect place to have a good time.

***

The Canyon is 1 of 5 clubs by the same name, and I can't speak for the rest but the cool atmosphere, full bar and dinner menu, mechanical bull, and huge stage make for a fun night in Agoura Hills. From a BTS perspective, the staff were organized and the techs were talented and open.

Unfortunately and fortunately for Sweet Sienna, the headliner for their show at The Canyon (Jake E. Lee's Red Dragon Cartel) had their tour bus break down in Nevada and didn't end up making it in time. While it would have been amazing to see such a talented group as the Red Dragon Cartel, it meant the openers got double the time to play, and most of the crowd still turned out to hear great music and throw back a few cocktails. (And as a side note, I wasn't too unhappy with the early night and lack of crazy backstage circumstances as I was suffering with a severe bout of tonsillitis at the time.)

Even though it's unassuming from the outside, (TC, AH gives you a bit of a strip-mall vibe) the interior is exactly what a growing, touring band needs to get great photos and video. Just a bit of advice, double check what equipment you'll need to bring here, as they don't always provide amps/drums etc.

But with good vibes and great people, it's one to look into if you're considering playing or seeing a show in Cali!
